Welcome to the home page of the Western Australian Fencing Association
-
Fencing is an exciting modern sport practiced throughout the world by men and women of all ages.
With its origins in ancient Eqypt, and one of only four sports contested in every modern Olympic Games, fencing has adapted through changing fashions while at the same time upholding the romance and tradition of its origins.
Today, Olympic level fencing is fast paced and exciting, utilising precision electronic equipment and high tech materials, to showcase a battle of body, mind and spirit between athletes with lightning fast reflexes and pin point precision.
The Western Australian Fencing Association aims to:
* promote and encourage the art and sport of Fencing;
* bring together into one association all Fencers in Western Australia;
* maintain the Rules of the Federation Internationale D’Escrime as a guideline for all Fencing in Western Australia.
* promote and manage fencing competitions within the State of Western Australia and
* promote other activities in the State that further the interests of Fencing generally.
In Western Australia you will find an opportunity to participate in fencing as a keen competitor or for its social enjoyment.
