WAFA Open Competition 8th/9th March
It is upon us once again, the first competition of the new year is here and I would love to see even more entries for events than last year! The first open competition will be held on the 8th and 9th of March.

Fencing Club Day Camp and UWA Open 2007 …With special guest coach Mathieu Meriaux!!
This camp is open to all ages, skill levels, weapons, and fencers. It is intended both as a fun day of fencing, and also, for those who are competing as a warm up for the national championships.
Saturday 17th November, 9am to 6pm (with an hour for lunch at 1pm).
Shenton College Gymnasium, 227 Stubbs Terrace, Shenton Park
Lunch will be provided, and is included in the cost. Parents and friends are welcome to come for the lunch (1pm)
Please return your money and confirmation slip (see attached file) to 31 Harborne Street, Wembley, 6014, by 14th November 2007.

Submitted by benpeden on Thu, 2007-11-08 11:04.The WA Fencing State U13 and U15 Finals will be held on the Saturday 10th November. The details for the competition are as follows:
Venue: Belmont City College Gymnasium.
Weapon: Foil only (U13 - non electric. U15 electric - speak to your club if you need to secure equipment).
1st Roll Call: 9:00am; 2nd Roll call 9:05am and 3rd Roll call 9:10am - Fencing to start by 9:15am
Email entries to tournament@wafafencing.org.au
Entries must be submitted by 10:01pm Wednesday the 7th of November or else a late entry fee of $10 will be required to be paid on the day of competition. Furthermore if you do plan on making a late entry please be at the competition at least 10 minutes before the competition.
The Australian Fencing Federation Inc (AFF) runs four Open National competitions every year, including the Australian National Championships. All four Open National events are accompanied by Veterans' events. All National Championships (except Veterans') incorporate both Team and Individual events. AFF individual events are open to any WAFA affiliated fencer who wishes to compete. Fencers can apply to attend through WAFA using the attached form, preferably by 26th October.

As you all may well know the State Championships are to be held on the 20/21st of October. The details for the competition are as follows:
Venue: Bellmont City College Gymnasium.
Foil: Saturday the 20th of October - 1st Role call 9:00am 2nd Role call 9:05am and 3rd Role call 9:10am - Fencing to start by 9:15am
Epee: Sunday the 21st of October - 1st Role call 9:00am 2nd Role call 9:05am and 3rd Role call 9:10am - Fencing to start by 9:15am
Sabre: Sunday the 21st of October - 1st Role call 11:00am 2nd Role call 11:05am 3rd Role call 11:10am - Fencing to start by 11:15am

Important: If you mis the last role call for the weapon you have entered in you will NOT BE ABLE TO FENCE. The 5 minutes before fencing starts is to ensure that the pools and entries are correct.
